Recording Day Guide and Rules

  • Each episode will start at the top of the hour (10AM, 11AM, 1PM, 2PM, and 3PM) (if we're lucky)
  • Each episode has a max run time of 45 minutes.
  • If we start late, we will still end the episode at 45 minutes past the hour with one exception - Blank Chair.
  • We have a hard stop at 4PM in order to clean up the studio.

Call Times

  • You should be in the studio at least 15 minutes before your episode starts.
  • If your are not in the studio when the episode prior to yours ends, your spot will be reassigned to someone else who is present.
  • If you spot was reassigned, we will try to get you reassigned to a later episode - if possible.
  • Messaging us about being late is not reliable as we're not looking at our phones, and may even have them off, so don't expect us to wait for you.
  • If you know you can't make it after the form is closed and the schedule is out, let Steve know. If it's already the recording day, don't worry about it, we'll just reassign your spot anyway. No worries!
  • If you're reading this, kudos to you for actually reading all this!!!
  • Scheduling works best when there are no changes, but life happens, so we'll try our best to accommodate changes.

  • Crew call is 15 minutes before the episode you are crewing for.

    • The Chief - voice in the tape recording
    • The Director - directs a scene with two actors
    • The Narrator - narrates a PSA
    • The Server in two restaurants


  • Your help cleaning up the studio and conference room is appreciated
  • If you have to leave, no sweat
  • If you are physically unable to help, no sweat
  • If you just don't want to help, well, okay, but I'll be giving you the stink eye (jk)
  • If you do help, I'll give you a big stinky sweaty hug, if you want one

Volunteer points

  • We'll eventually have a crew and clean-up points system in place. More to come later
